Resources

Here you can find some fun downloadable resources for children and adults!

Resources from the London Brain Project

The London Brain Project was a public engagement initiative that took place from 2012 to 2016. Our senior lab member Dr Michelle Downes co-founded this project with Georgia Pitts, Julia Vogl, and Louise Weiss. You can learn more about it here and see a video from the project below.

As part of this initiative, a number of fun activities were designed to allow children and adults to learn about the brain in an interactive way. Three of the most popular of these activities are shared below for everyone to use and enjoy - just be sure to credit the London Brain Project creators (Michelle Downes, Georgia Pitts, Julia Vogl, and Louise Weiss) if reproducing these materials!

Detailed guide on how to use the resources:

Meet Your Brain

This activity uses beads or stickers to represent different parts of the brain. It shows how these brain regions work together to carry out everyday activities. The activity is great for both children and adults - it was a big hit at our Neuropsychology in the Classroom workshop for teachers here in our lab in 2018!

My Book of Vision

This activity explores how infants learn to see the world during their first year of life. It involves creating artwork at four stations, each of which represent a different stage of visual development. This creates a book of vision!
